Start waking up earlier
It’s now been almost a year since we first got a taste of what it was like to attend virtual class, so it wouldn’t be a bold assumption to make that we’ve all – no matter how nerdy or how organised – woken up seconds before our class started. With in-person classes that is, of course, simply impossible.
That means the return of the early morning is just around the corner, and after two months without it, you should be scared of its consequences.
So what better way to get used to those dreadful alarm clocks and endless snooze buttons than gradually working your way back to them: in the next two weeks before returning, try setting your alarm 15-30 minutes earlier each day. Do this, and before you know it, 7AM will be the new 12PM.
Start removing all your main distractions
All the time we’d usually spend in school outside of class, or commuting to school has meant we’ve all grown used to having quite a lot more extra time for ourselves. And while this is, in many ways, a good thing, it can be clashing to suddenly have all that lazy down-time taken away.
Unfortunately, come March 8th, all this time will be taken away from our hands. That means all these distractions are not as needed as they have been in the past 2 months.
This tip is especially focused on gamers and netflix binge-watchers: maybe its time to turn down the amount of hours you spend on whatever lazy activity you perform with all this extra time we have. I suggest doing something similar to tip number one, where you try to gradually turn down the amount of time you spend on your distractions each day, until you have a reasonable amount of down-time to stay sane, but don’t over do it to the extent where you miss all your deadlines.
You may delay, but time will not.
